It’s been 20 years, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate two decades of decadence with the people who made all of this possible – you. But before you join us for the Anniversary Party on October 20, we’d like to share a little bit of the history that makes Sullivan’s so spectacular.
Started back in 1996, Sullivan’s Steakhouse first laid its foundation and opened its doors in historic Austin, TX. Austin was experiencing a massive influx of residents in response to the tech boom of the late 90s, and Sullivan’s sought to stake its claim as a steakhouse that does things its own way. That, coupled with a commitment to Texas traditions of big steaks, big portions, big drinks and big hospitality, is exactly what allowed Sullivan’s to make a such a big impression on the self-proclaimed Live Music Capital of the World.
Being located near 6th Street, where some America’s greatest musicians like Stevie Ray Vaughan got their start, means live bands have always been part of Sullivan’s vibe, particularly swing and jazz. The unencumbered, improvisational nature of both swing and jazz is the perfect way to set the tone for an evening full of stiff drinks and setting inhibitions free. All that’s left to do is to slip into an intimate booth, treat yourself to a famous hand-cut steak and celebrate what’s made Sullivan’s a staple for stunning steakhouses for the last 20 years.
Make plans to toast to our milestone at our Anniversary Party on Thursday, October 20! Enjoy food and drink specials, live music, giveaways and much more. You can also celebrate all month long with throwback appetizers and cocktails or our special three-course menu now through the October 20.
What memories have you made at Sullivan’s over the last two decades? Share with us in the comments.
